Master P, the rap mogul-turned-basketball executive, is making waves in the college basketball world. In a recent interview with TMZ Sports, Master P revealed that multiple colleges are interested in him as a head coach, inspired by his successful turnaround at the University of New Orleans where he currently serves as the assistant coach and President of Basketball Operations.

The President of Basketball Ops is not ruling out the possibility of taking on a head coaching role in the future. He mentioned that colleges are drawn to him because of his business acumen and the positive impact he has had on the University of New Orleans’ basketball program.

When asked if the colleges were interested in him as a coach or an executive, Master P responded, “I think it’s both. I mean, even they want me to be a head coach. I don’t know. I’m like, I don’t know if I’m ready yet.”

Master P highlighted the changing landscape of coaching in sports, emphasizing the importance of thinking outside the box to attract fans and build successful programs. He cited coaches like Kelvin Sampson and Deion Sanders as inspirations for their innovative approaches to coaching and program management.

For Master P, coaching is not just about winning games but also about using basketball as a tool to grow the university and attract more students. He expressed his desire to increase enrollment at the University of New Orleans through the basketball program, emphasizing that it’s not just about wins and losses but about creating a thriving academic community.

In a poignant moment, Master P stated, “I’m not just a coach. I’m a teacher,” underscoring his commitment to mentoring and guiding young athletes both on and off the court.
