Tony Khan, the owner of All Elite Wrestling (AEW), received some fantastic news just hours before the latest episode of AEW Dynamite. Last week’s edition of Collision was action-packed, featuring Jet Set Rodeo successfully defending the AEW World Trios Titles against The Demand. Additionally, The Rascalz pulled off a surprising victory over FTR with some assistance from the Young Bucks, leading to a dramatic turn of events with FTR assaulting Matt and Nick Jackson’s brother.

The viewership numbers for last week’s Collision were impressive, drawing in an average of 470,000 viewers according to Programming Insider. This marked the second time in a month that Collision surpassed the 450K mark, showcasing a significant increase in viewership. In the key 18-49 demographic, Collision garnered a rating of 0.08, higher than the previous month’s average of 0.06. The show’s performance has been consistently strong, with viewership typically ranging between 200,000 and 350,000 in recent months. Last week’s episode boasted the highest rating of 0.08 since September 17, which had a 0.12 rating.

In a surprising development, Eric Bischoff accused Tony Khan of misleading information regarding AEW’s partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery. While AEW and Warner Bros. Discovery have been collaborating since 2019 for TV broadcasting, it was revealed that WBD owned a minority stake in Tony Khan’s company contrary to Khan’s claims of having 100 percent voting power. Bischoff, speaking on his 83 Weeks podcast, suggested that the ownership stake held by WBD was likely between 20 to 25 percent, significantly higher than the reported 5 percent.

Despite the controversy surrounding the partnership, the positive trend in Collision’s viewership is a promising sign for AEW. With the show consistently delivering engaging content and drawing in a growing audience, AEW continues to solidify its position in the competitive world of professional wrestling. As fans eagerly anticipate the next episode of AEW Dynamite, the success of Collision serves as a testament to the company’s ongoing efforts to provide top-notch entertainment for wrestling enthusiasts worldwide.
