Will Power, a two-time IndyCar champion, has expressed interest in competing in a NASCAR Xfinity race at the iconic Brickyard. The 44-year-old Australian driver, known for his victories at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in the Indy 500 and the IMS road course race, is looking to add more accomplishments at the 2.5-mile oval.

In a conversation with IndyCar and IMS president Doug Boles on the IMS YouTube Channel, Power shared his desire to participate in the Indianapolis 8 Hour, an Intercontinental GT race he debuted at in 2025. He mentioned his goal of winning a sports car race to add to his list of achievements at the Speedway.

Boles suggested that Power could also consider the Brickyard event in the Xfinity series, to which the driver responded positively. Last year, Power expressed his enthusiasm for NASCAR and mentioned receiving an offer from an Xfinity team for a race later that year.

Having driven for Team Penske’s IndyCar team for 17 years, Power’s dream of racing in NASCAR could have been realized if he had approached Roger Penske to field him in a race with the team’s NASCAR arm.

In a significant development at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Turn Two has been repaved for the 2026 season to address a bump caused by original bricks from the track’s construction. While some IndyCar drivers tested the new surface last year, Power was not among them. He expressed curiosity about the changes to Turn Two and how they would impact car behavior on the track.

As Power embarks on a new chapter with Andretti Global in IndyCar, he looks forward to the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. With a strong desire to succeed in different racing disciplines, including NASCAR, Power continues to push the boundaries of his racing career.

Overall, Will Power’s willingness to explore new racing ventures showcases his versatility and determination to excel in any competition he undertakes. With a blend of experience and ambition, Power remains a formidable force in the world of motorsports.
