As President-elect Donald Trump and his team work tirelessly to appoint 4,000 individuals to staff his administration before Inauguration Day, the spotlight is on Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and his potential influence on health-related agencies. Kennedy, a prominent figure in the “Make America Healthy Again” (MAHA) movement, has taken an unconventional approach to soliciting nominees for key roles in the government.

Kennedy recently launched a webpage called “Nominees for the People,” which allows individuals to submit names for consideration for various positions. The platform, powered by Discourse, enables users to vote and comment on nominations while moderators ensure the quality of submissions. While there is a desire among supporters to see Kennedy in a leadership role, uncertainties remain about his own appointment.

Among the nominees gaining traction on the portal is Casey Means, a functional medicine doctor focused on nutrition, who is reportedly being considered for a role in the Food and Drug Administration. Another prominent nominee is Simone Gold, founder of America’s Frontline Doctors, known for her controversial views on Covid treatments and vaccines.

The portal also features physicians like Pierre Kory, Peter McCullough, and Sherri Tenpenny, who have garnered attention for their opposition to mainstream public health guidelines during the pandemic. These individuals have faced backlash for promoting misinformation and conspiracy theories related to Covid vaccines and treatments.

In addition to healthcare professionals, the portal includes unconventional nominees like Gretchen Adler, a social media influencer advocating for an ancestral diet, and Zen Honeycutt, an environmental activist known for her work with Moms Across America. Joel Salatin, a self-described “Christian libertarian environmentalist capitalist lunatic farmer,” claims to have been offered a position in the Department of Agriculture.

As the MAHA movement continues to shape the conversation around health and wellness in the government, the nominations on the portal reflect a diverse range of perspectives and backgrounds. While some nominees have faced criticism for spreading misinformation, others bring unique expertise and insights to the table. The final appointments will play a crucial role in shaping the future of healthcare policies and initiatives under the new administration.
