Prince William Pushes for Prince Andrew’s Removal from the Royal Family
Despite ongoing controversies surrounding Prince Andrew, Prince William has been relentless in his efforts to have his uncle removed from the royal family. The pressure intensified after the passing of the queen in September 2022.
One particular incident that incensed William was when his father, Prince Charles, allowed Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, to join the family for Christmas at Sandringham in 2023. William was further dismayed when Charles permitted them to participate in the royal family’s annual walk to and from church.
A source within the palace revealed William’s unwavering stance on the matter in early 2024, stating that the prince firmly believed that Andrew should have no place near the family, under any circumstances. William was adamant that there was no benefit in protecting Andrew.
Despite William’s efforts, Prince Andrew was still present at the family’s Easter service at St. George’s Chapel in April 2025, alongside the king and other members of the royal family. However, noticeably absent were William and his family.
William’s persistent push for Andrew’s removal highlights the ongoing tensions within the royal family regarding the disgraced prince’s presence. It remains to be seen how this internal strife will continue to unfold in the future.
