The 2026 Winter Olympics came to a close on Sunday, with Team USA emerging as the top-performing nation, securing a total of 12 gold medals. What made this victory even more remarkable was the fact that female athletes outshone their male counterparts, clinching eight of those golds. This dominance by the women athletes was a resounding response to critics who had been making dismissive remarks about their abilities throughout the event.

One notable figure who spoke out in support of the American female athletes was Kylie Kelce, the wife of Jason Kelce. In a podcast interview on the “Not Gonna Lie” podcast, Kylie expressed immense pride in the accomplishments of the women on Team USA. She highlighted the fact that out of the 12 gold medals won by the team, eight of them were secured by the female athletes, showcasing their exceptional talent and determination.

Kylie also took a moment to address the consistent success of the U.S. women in winning gold medals at the Winter Olympics. She pointed out that this was the sixth consecutive Olympics where the women athletes had outperformed their male counterparts, both in terms of gold medals and total medals. In a playful yet defiant tone, Kylie dismissed the critics and celebrated the achievements of the women on the team.

In a heartwarming anecdote, Kylie shared her experience of being taught how to snowboard by Olympian Jamie Anderson in Aspen, Colorado. She humorously recalled feeling like Anderson was carrying her piggyback down the mountain on their first run together, highlighting the supportive and encouraging environment created by the Olympian.

Additionally, Kylie used her platform to call out trolls who had criticized Olympic alpine skier Breezy Johnson’s fiancé, Connor Watkins. These critics had accused Watkins of stealing the spotlight from Johnson by proposing to her after she had won gold. Kylie defended the couple and condemned the negative comments, emphasizing the importance of celebrating love and success in equal measure.

As the Winter Olympics came to a close, the achievements of the American female athletes stood as a testament to their skill, determination, and resilience. Their success not only brought glory to the nation but also inspired generations of athletes to dream big and reach for the stars. The legacy of these remarkable women will undoubtedly continue to shine bright in the annals of sports history.
