Fremantle has recently unveiled a sneak peek at their upcoming drama series, “The Season,” which is set in the glamorous backdrop of Hong Kong. Produced in collaboration with SK Global, the powerhouse behind hit projects like “Crazy Rich Asians,” “Thai Cave Rescue,” and “Delhi Crime,” this English-language show promises to captivate audiences with its intriguing storyline and stellar cast.
The six-episode series is scheduled to premiere this summer on Viu as a Viu Original, catering to viewers in Asia, the Middle East, and South Africa. Additionally, U.S. audiences can look forward to watching it on Hulu. Fremantle is spearheading the international sales of the show, with the support of De Maio Entertainment.
“The Season” revolves around a tight-knit social circle whose perfect boating season is disrupted when a mysterious outsider enters their world. As the summer progresses, long-buried secrets come to light, alliances shift, and personal ambitions threaten to reshape relationships in unexpected ways.
The ensemble cast includes talented actors such as Jessie Mei Li (“Shadow and Bone”), Karena Lam, Chris Pang (“Interior Chinatown”), Justin Chien, Yvonne Chapman (“Avatar: The Last Airbender”), Celina Jade (“Wolf Warrior 2”), Toby Stephens (“Percy Jackson and the Olympians”), and more. The series is created and executive produced by Yalun Tu, known for his work on “My Undead Yokai Girlfriend” and “NCIS: Hawaii.” Renowned Chilean director Marialy Rivas leads the directing team and serves as an executive producer.
