A large crowd of Iranian-Americans gathered in New York City to celebrate the death of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei after he and several of his associates were killed in a US-Israeli strike in Tehran. Similar celebrations took place in cities around the world.

Approximately 500 people marched through Midtown chanting “USA! USA! USA!” and “TRUMP, TRUMP! THANK YOU, THANK YOU!” while carrying banners that read “Make Iran Great Again.”

The group, waving the Iranian Lion and Sun flag (which was banned after the 1979 Islamic Revolution), headed towards Times Square.

The demonstrators sang the old Iranian national anthem and expressed gratitude to President Trump and the US military for the decisive strike that eliminated Khamenei and other top officials.

Celebrations were not confined to the US, as families in Iran also rejoiced at the news, seeing it as a step towards liberation from the oppressive regime.

Amidst the celebrations, Iranian-Americans voiced their support for the military action as a means of rescuing their fellow citizens in Iran who have been suffering under the regime’s brutal crackdown.

Global demonstrations were held in various cities, including London, where solidarity between Iranians and Israelis was on display.

While there were some protests against the strikes, participants noted that these did not appear to involve actual Iranians. The primary sentiment among the celebrants was one of gratitude towards the US and its military for their actions.
