Newly Released Video Shows Austin Mass Shooting Suspect Leaving Apartment
Newly obtained doorbell camera video has revealed the suspect in the Austin mass shooting at an apartment shortly before the deadly rampage.
In the footage obtained by FOX 7, 53-year-old Ndiaga Diagne can be seen leaving a Del Valle, Texas apartment, as captured by a neighboring doorbell camera.
The video timestamp indicates Feb. 28, one day before the mass shooting.
The same neighbor also provided a video of FBI agents covering up their camera moments before a raid on Diagne’s apartment on March 2.
The raid was related to the execution of a search warrant at an apartment linked to Diagne.
Residents at the Eastridge Apartments were approached by federal agents surrounding a complex unit at around 11:30 a.m. one day earlier, with one agent using a loudspeaker to instruct anyone in unit 813 to step away from the windows.
Shortly after, neighbors reported hearing noises resembling gunshots and a grenade-like explosion from the apartment.
One resident described seeing armed agents outside their apartment upon returning home.
Police Chief Lisa Davis disclosed that the gunman, identified as a 53-year-old naturalized US citizen born in Senegal who lived in Pflugerville, started shooting patrons at a bar from his car before being shot and killed by police.
The FBI has classified the shooting as a possible act of terrorism and is investigating the incident closely with the Austin Police Department.
At least two victims remain in critical condition following the shooting.
