Wisconsin Nurse’s Lies Accusing Patient of Sexual Assault Wastes Police Time and Puts Others in Danger
A Wisconsin nurse, identified as Ms. Knutson, recently made false accusations against a patient, claiming that she was sexually assaulted. However, her lies were taken seriously by the police, leading to a significant waste of time and potentially putting others in danger. Monroe County District Attorney Kevin Croninger condemned Knutson’s actions, stating that she not only violated the trust between a patient and a nurse but also falsely accused the patient of a heinous crime.
In a statement released by Croninger, he emphasized the harm caused by Knutson’s actions, describing it as “deep and significant.” He applauded the responding officers for their dedication to uncovering the truth and conducting a thorough investigation.
“All officers involved in this matter demonstrated a tremendous commitment to seeking the truth through evidence,” Croninger stated. “When Ms. Knutson reported she was sexually assaulted, that allegation was taken seriously. However, through their professionalism and diligence, the officers were able to determine that Knutson was lying and that she was, in fact, the perpetrator, not the victim.”
He further emphasized the importance of seeking the truth through evidence, highlighting that without the officers’ dedication, an unjust result may have occurred. Instead, justice was served, and the truth was revealed.
