This incident is just the latest in a series of cyber breaches targeting U.S. government agencies and companies. Last year, Chinese hackers compromised the U.S. Treasury and the National Nuclear Security Administration. Russian hackers also accessed sealed records from the U.S. Courts’ filing system. Additionally, Elon Musk’s DOGE was involved in unauthorized access to Americans’ personal data, raising concerns about national security risks.
Furthermore, the Chinese government-backed hacking group Salt Typhoon has reportedly breached over 200 U.S. companies, including major telecommunications providers like AT&T, Verizon, Lumen, Charter Communications, and Windstream.
