A Wisconsin teenager, Nikita Casap, has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the brutal murder of his parents. The shocking crime, which occurred in 2025, involved Casap shooting his mother, Tatiana Casap, and stepfather, Donald Mayer, before living with their decomposing bodies for two weeks.

Casap pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree intentional homicide in Waukesha County Circuit Court as part of a plea deal that saw seven other charges dropped. After committing the murders, he fled across the country in his stepfather’s SUV with $14,000 in cash, a gun, and the family dog.

Authorities caught up with Casap during a traffic stop in Kansas, where they discovered his disturbing plan to use an “attack drone” to assassinate President Donald Trump. A federal warrant for his arrest revealed that the murders were committed in an effort to obtain the financial means to carry out his violent scheme.

During his sentencing hearing, Casap begged for forgiveness, claiming he believed he was part of a revolution and justifying his actions as a response to the evil he saw in the world. However, the judge, Ralph Ramirez, was unmoved by Casap’s explanation, citing the “bizarre circumstances” of the murders and the lack of any rationale behind the killings.

Despite his young age, the judge determined that Casap was not eligible for release to extended supervision after serving 20 years, expressing doubts about the possibility of a significant change in the teen. Casap tearfully expressed regret for his actions, acknowledging the love and care he received from his parents and admitting that what he did was vile and wrong.

The tragic case of Nikita Casap serves as a stark reminder of the devastating consequences of violence and the importance of seeking help and support when struggling with mental health issues or extreme beliefs. As Casap begins his life sentence behind bars, the community grapples with the aftermath of a senseless and horrific crime that has left a family shattered and a nation reeling.
