Tova Noel, Prison Guard Accused of Googling Jeffrey Epstein Before His Death

Tova Noel, a correctional officer at the Metropolitan Correctional Center, was one of two guards accused of falsifying records in relation to Jeffrey Epstein’s death in August 2019. The guards allegedly failed to conduct required checks on Epstein while he was in the Special Housing Unit.

According to documents obtained by The New York Post, an FBI forensic review revealed that Noel searched for information on Epstein just minutes before his body was found. The search was flagged in a 66-page report that examined computer activity of the guards on duty.

On the morning of Epstein’s death, Noel reportedly searched for “latest on Epstein in jail” at 5:42 a.m. and again at 5:52 a.m. At 6:30 a.m., less than 40 minutes after the searches, Epstein was discovered hanging in his cell by guard Michael Thomas.

During the same shift, investigators found that Noel had been browsing furniture online while Thomas was looking at motorcycles, instead of performing the required inmate checks.

When questioned by the Department of Justice in 2021, Noel denied searching for information on Epstein. She claimed that the FBI’s computer data was not accurate and challenged the validity of the records.

Despite her denial, the forensic examination of the guards’ computer activity highlighted the search for Epstein as the only significant internet activity during the shift.
