Nearly 100 Evacuated from Centennial Hotel Due to Fire
Approximately 100 individuals staying at a Centennial hotel were forced to evacuate on Sunday afternoon following a fire that broke out in one of the rooms, as reported by South Metro Fire Rescue.
Firefighters and deputies from the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office swiftly responded to the incident at Extended Stay America Select Suites, located at 9604 E. Easter Ave, just before 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, according to officials.
The fire was successfully contained within one room, with flames brought under control in less than 30 minutes, as stated in an update by South Metro at 2:55 p.m. The 9 occupants of the hotel were safely evacuated and relocated to another nearby hotel.
While one individual was taken to the hospital for further evaluation, there were no other reported injuries, confirmed fire officials.
At this time, the cause of the fire remains unknown as investigations continue.
