Drew Barrymore Show Renewed for Two More Seasons

Drew Barrymore has exciting news to share – “The Drew Barrymore Show” has been renewed for two more seasons, securing its spot on the airwaves until 2028. This renewal guarantees that the daytime talk show will continue for its seventh and eighth seasons.

CBS Media Ventures, the production and distribution company behind the show, made the announcement of the renewal on Monday. This news comes at a challenging time for daily talk shows, with shows like “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” and “The Kelly Clarkson Show” wrapping up their runs. “Drew Barrymore” joins “Jennifer Hudson” in securing a renewal in the daytime talk show landscape.

The renewal of “The Drew Barrymore Show” includes key markets like New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago, as well as renewals on Nexstar and Sinclair outlets. CBS Media Ventures also mentioned that the show has received time slot upgrades in several cities including Seattle, Minneapolis, and Baltimore.

One of the factors contributing to the success of “Drew Barrymore” is CBS synergy, along with the strategy of distributing the show as two half-hour segments that can be aired together or separately with local news.

Executive producer Jason Kurtz praised Drew Barrymore, calling her the “original influencer” and a trendsetter in the entertainment industry. He highlighted Barrymore’s authenticity and willingness to challenge the norms of daytime television as key factors in the show’s success.

“The Drew Barrymore Show” has been attracting an average of 1.6 million viewers, making it the most-watched season of the show. Barrymore has also started conducting long-form, audience-free interviews with guests, which are distributed as broadcast edits and extended digital cuts on the show’s YouTube channel.

“The Drew Barrymore Show” is executive produced by Barrymore and Kurtz and originates from New York. The show’s success and innovative approach have garnered support from CBS and its executives, ensuring its continued presence in the daytime talk show landscape.
