President Donald Trump is under fire on social media for his recent tirade against critics concerned about the impact of his actions in Iran on oil prices and gas prices. Trump, who promised during his 2024 campaign to lower gas prices to below $2 a gallon, dismissed the current price surge as temporary, calling those who disagree “ONLY FOOLS.”
In a tweet, Trump defended the rise in oil prices as a small price to pay for U.S.A. and world safety and peace, stating that oil prices will drop rapidly once the Iran nuclear threat is eliminated. However, gas prices have soared following Trump’s strikes on Iran in collaboration with Israel, which disrupted traffic at the crucial Strait of Hormuz.
The war with Iran has not only caused crude prices to spike and the Dow to plummet, but it has also pushed gas prices up significantly. According to AAA, the average price of gas went from $2.984 a gallon to $3.450 in just a week.
Critics of the president took to social media to remind him of his previous statements on fuel prices and to point out inconsistencies in his justifications for the conflict with Iran. Despite Trump’s claims that the strikes obliterated Iran’s nuclear program, his recent actions have led to increased tensions and higher prices at the pump.
