Stacy London and Clinton Kelly, the dynamic duo from TLC’s “What Not to Wear,” have joined forces once again for a new fashion series called “Why’d They Wear That?” This time, the focus is on dissecting iconic Hollywood fashion moments that have shaped pop culture.

The new series, created and owned by London and Kelly, will be produced by content studio Simple Alien and distributed as a web series and podcast. With full creative control over the show, London and Kelly are excited to dive into the world of on-screen fashion and explore the looks that sparked trends, started debates, and sometimes left audiences wondering, “what are they wearing?”

“Why’d They Wear That?” will feature 12 episodes where Stacy and Clinton rewatch classic films and TV shows like “Poltergeist,” “Scarface,” and “9 to 5” from the comfort of their beds at the Knickerbocker Hotel in New York. From shoulder pads to power suits and prom dresses to nightgowns, no fashion choice is off-limits as they provide a mix of love letters and roasts to the iconic styles of yesteryear.

Simple Alien, known for its creator-driven content, aims to produce the series on an economic production model, with multiple episodes filmed in a single day. The studio’s previous hit series, “Chewed Up,” hosted by Carla Hall, Clinton Kelly, and Michael Symon, garnered a large following and partnered with brands like Fresh Direct and Trader Joe’s.

London and Kelly, who had a public falling out after “What Not to Wear,” have since reconciled and are thrilled to bring their unfiltered and opinionated dynamic back to the screen with “Why’d They Wear That?” The series promises to be a fun and entertaining look at the fashion moments that have left a lasting impact on pop culture.
