Netflix Expands Presence in India with Launch of Eyeline Studios in Hyderabad
Netflix has recently announced the launch of Eyeline Studios in Hyderabad, marking a significant commitment to India’s creative and technical industries. The new studio will focus on animation, visual effects, gaming, and comics, further solidifying Netflix’s presence in the country.
Described as Netflix’s global production and innovation studio in India, Eyeline Studios in Hyderabad will specialize in high-end VFX work, virtual production, and emerging production technologies. The facility will integrate into Netflix’s worldwide production infrastructure, enhancing the streamer’s capabilities in content creation.
The launch event was attended by key figures such as Telangana Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Secretary Sanjay Jaju, and actor-producer Rana Daggubati. Daggubati, known for his role in Netflix India’s “Rana Naidu,” praised the studio’s commitment to the local industry.
Covering 32,000 sq ft, the Hyderabad facility is equipped with cutting-edge VFX and generative virtual effects technology, supported by a hybrid cloud setup. It joins Eyeline’s global network, which includes studios in Los Angeles, Vancouver, Seoul, and London.
Eyeline Studios CEO Jeff Shapiro highlighted India’s creative and technical talent as a driving force behind the decision to establish a studio in Hyderabad. He praised the city for its technology backbone, engineering capability, and rich film culture, making it an ideal location for expanding Netflix’s production capabilities.
Revanth Reddy emphasized Hyderabad’s status as a natural home for Netflix, noting the city’s role as a gateway for global talent and opportunities. Jaju recognized Hyderabad’s history in the AVGC sector, citing the presence of major Hollywood studios in the city as evidence of its industry potential.
Reflecting on Hyderabad’s creative evolution, Daggubati noted the significant progress the city has made in fostering a thriving creative industry. He highlighted the growth of opportunities in Hyderabad over the past two decades, culminating in the city’s emergence as a future hub of creativity.
