The Search for Timelessness in Fashion: Koki Enomoto’s “Lasting” Collection

Can there ever be room for permanence in the ever-shifting world of fashion? This is the question that designer Koki Enomoto has been pondering this season. The latest collection from Attachment, titled “Lasting,” delves into the concept of a timeless wardrobe and the impossibility of achieving it.

Enomoto drew inspiration from the subtle signs of time passing that he observed in his surroundings: moss growing between cracks in concrete, the rust on a pipe. These seemingly insignificant details of everyday life served as the foundation for his exploration of the transient nature of fashion.

The highlight of the collection was the introduction of ‘STILL,’ a new high-end line that emphasizes quality natural materials such as silk, cashmere, and wool. This line aims to encapsulate Attachment’s philosophy of simplifying clothing to its core essence. The STILL pieces seamlessly blended in with the main collection, exuding a sense of understated elegance. Enomoto explained, “The clothes may appear ordinary at first glance, but it is when you touch and wear them that you truly appreciate their beauty.”

Enomoto also incorporated elements of sensuality into the collection, with jeans featuring waistbands that folded over belts to create a subtly provocative look. Collared shirts without buttons that opened down to the navel added a hint of allure to the overall aesthetic.

The collection exuded a subtle futuristic vibe, with long-sleeved T-shirts sporting minimalist designs and unconventional necklines. Outerwear pieces included asymmetric-zipped puffer jackets in classic black and Dune greige, as well as wool mantles draped over angora sweaters and tailored ensembles. The quarter-zip sweater, updated with a slightly oversized fit in ribbed wool, offered a modern twist on a timeless classic.
