Filming for Season 5 of “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” is currently on hold following domestic violence allegations between Taylor Frankie Paul and her ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen.
According to a source for Variety, production has ceased as the Draper City Police Department in Utah looks into the claims made by both parties. The source indicates that this pause is temporary, and production is expected to resume shortly without causing significant delays to the season’s release schedule. The alleged incident did not take place during filming.
Paul is featured in the 22nd season of “The Bachelorette,” which is set to premiere on ABC on March 22. She is currently in New York City promoting the show before a premiere event in Los Angeles this weekend. The ongoing investigation will not affect the release or promotional plans for “The Bachelorette.”
This is not the first such incident between Paul and Mortensen, who have a son together. In the first season of “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” prior to Paul becoming pregnant, she was arrested for allegedly assaulting Mortensen, including hitting, choking, and throwing metal chairs at him, with one chair reportedly hitting one of her children from a previous relationship. Paul pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated assault, while other charges, including domestic violence in the presence of a child, child abuse, and criminal mischief, were dismissed. Her arrest and subsequent probation significantly delayed the filming between the first and second episodes of “Mormon Wives.”
