In light of the revealing emails between Wasserman and Maxwell that emerged from the Epstein files, Best Coast’s lead singer, Bethany Cosentino, has declared her intention to sever all professional connections with the entertainment executive and his firm.
In a forthright open letter on Instagram, she stated, “My name is Bethany Cosentino. I am a singer/songwriter, an activist, a mother, and the frontwoman of the band Best Coast. I have been represented by Wasserman Music since its expansion into music in 2021.”
Cosentino continued, “I have recently learned that the founder and CEO of my agency, Casey Wasserman, had a documented romantic relationship with Ghislaine Maxwell from 2001 to 2003, along with several documented interactions and communications with Jeffrey Epstein as confirmed by emails now available to the public. Ghislaine Maxwell is not an impartial figure in a complicated narrative; she is a convicted s– trafficker who aided in the exploitation of minors.”
She emphasized her refusal to have her name or career “associated with someone linked to such exploitation.”
Cosentino asserted, “Remaining silent isn’t something I can do in good conscience, especially when men in power are often shielded, excused, or allowed to proceed without repercussions. Ignoring the seriousness of this matter is not an option for me,” she concluded.
She further urged Wasserman to “step down,” stating that the situation he “put his agents in is inexcusable.”
