A tragic incident unfolded in Connecticut, where a mother of three was reportedly beaten to death by her partner, who subsequently took his own life before police could arrive. The Connecticut State Police revealed in a statement that Diana Enamorado Perdomo was discovered dead in her Hebron home on Friday, March 13.

Authorities were alerted to the residence around 3 a.m. after receiving a disturbance report. Upon arriving, officers found Perdomo, aged 44, deceased, with evidence suggesting a forced entry. Alongside her, the body of 44-year-old Gregorio Calihua-Mantiel was also found in the home.

A judge sentenced a Pennsylvania man to two life terms without parole for killing his wife and her elderly aunt after a domestic dispute over cooking. Last October, Santiago Payano-Sanchez and his wife, Ana Gutierrez-Cedano, engaged in a verbal altercation over meal preparation, which turned deadly.

In their statement, police described Perdomo’s death as a homicide, while Calihua-Mantiel’s was ruled a suicide. Although the statement did not specify the perpetrator, the New Haven Register reported that authorities concluded it was a murder-suicide.

The medical examiner’s office later confirmed to People that Perdomo died from blunt force trauma to the head. Honduran news outlets HCH TV and Tu Nota reported that her family claimed she was beaten to death with a bat.

Following this tragedy, Perdomo’s family established a GoFundMe page. Her niece, Rubi, described the circumstances of her death as an act of “unimaginable cruelty” by her partner. Rubi wrote, “Not only was a kind-hearted woman taken from this world, but I also lost the person who was like a mother to me. Diana was an incredible mother, a loving grandmother, and a woman who taught me the meaning of hard work and kindness.”

Rubi continued to express her grief, stating, “She was my guide, my support, and one of the most important people in my life. Losing her has left a pain that words cannot fully describe. I feel completely lost without her.”

Rubi shared her intention to raise funds to return Perdomo’s body to her native Honduras, where her three children live. “Now I find myself asking for help during the most painful moment of my life. My aunt’s daughters, her mother, and our family in Honduras are grieving from afar, unable to see her or hold her one last time,” she explained. “We are trying to bring Diana back home to Honduras so her family can lay her to rest with the dignity, love, and peace she deserves. They deserve a place where they can visit her, pray for her, and remember her forever.”

Rubi concluded, “I humbly ask for your help. Any donation, no matter how small, will help cover the costs of transportation and funeral expenses so we can bring her home.

The investigation into these deaths is still ongoing. The Connecticut State Police did not immediately respond to Us Weekly’s request for comment on the incident.
