Early Saturday, a 30-year-old man was stabbed at the Western Blue Line station in Logan Square following an argument that escalated into a physical altercation, according to police.
Authorities were called to the station at 1909 North Western Avenue around 12:20 a.m. after the man engaged in a dispute with an unidentified individual on the platform, as reported by the Chicago Police Department (CPD). The suspect reportedly brandished a sharp object and stabbed the victim before fleeing the scene on foot.
The victim sustained a puncture wound to his left hand and is in good condition at Stroger Hospital.
The suspect is described as a bald Hispanic man wearing a gray jumpsuit.
In recent days, at least three other individuals have been stabbed while on CTA trains:
- Two women, aged 43 and 23, were attacked on a Brown Line train in the Loop last Saturday evening. According to CPD, the pair got into a confrontation with another woman on the Clark-Lake platform at approximately 7:52 p.m., which continued onto the train where the assailant injured both women, cutting the older woman on the arm and the younger woman on the hand.
- On March 12, a 37-year-old man was stabbed on the northbound platform of the Grand Red Line station in River North, located at 521 North State Street. Just before midnight, an unknown man approached and stabbed him in the left tricep without any provocation, as per police reports.
