On this week’s WWE RAW, Roman Reigns lost his composure and launched a fierce attack on CM Punk. Reigns used a Spear and followed it up with a powerbomb, sending Punk through the commentary table as the show came to an end.
The Usos played a role in this incident, with Jey Uso urging Reigns to target Punk. During RAW Recap, Big E, a former WWE Champion, suggested that the Tribal Chief might need to leave his family aside at WrestleMania 42 to safeguard his legacy:
“I think, if Roman can’t do this without the cousins, without the Bloodline, I am not saying his legacy takes a hit, I’m saying maybe we start to question it. You could argue the Summer of Punk, that was a lot of Paul Heyman, the 400-plus day world title run from over a decade ago, Paul Heyman was there for that, but much of CM Punk’s career, he’s stood on his own two feet. And I think that’s a lot of what his argument is, ‘Look, Roman, you claim to be the greatest to ever do it, you claim to deserve to be on the Mount Rushmore, I wanna see you mano a mano.'” [H/T WrestleTalk]
CM Punk had a surprising reaction to being attacked by Roman Reigns on WWE RAW
Even after enduring a Superman Punch, a Spear, and a powerbomb through the announce table, CM Punk remained mentally unfazed.
The World Heavyweight Champion was seen laughing as Reigns made his way back up the ramp. Punk asserted that he wasn’t the one in need of assistance following the attack.
This appeared to be a strategic move to unsettle Reigns, orchestrated by The Best in the World. The two wrestling icons are set to confront each other again on the next episode of RAW, where the balance of power will once more be tested.
