WASHINGTON — A diverse group including a motivational coach, a venture capitalist with ties to health secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s son, and several health care executives specializing in value-based care, mental health, and primary care have been selected to provide guidance to federal officials on enhancing the health care system.

This newly formed advisory body, known as the Healthcare Advisory Committee, was announced on Thursday by Kennedy alongside Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Administrator Mehmet Oz. In a video announcement, Kennedy stated that after evaluating over 400 candidates, they chose 18 members to lead Kennedy’s Make America Healthy Agenda. This initiative focuses on developing strategies to address chronic diseases, streamline administrative processes, and improve care for vulnerable groups.

“Their insights will help us cut costs, slash red tape, improve quality of care, keep programs solvent, and refocus health care on the people it is meant to serve: the patients,” Oz said.
