Toonz Media Group, a prominent name in Indian animation, has unveiled MyToonz, a specialized FAST channel, now available on LG Electronics smart TVs in India. The company aims to expand this service globally in the coming years.
Initially accessible to LG smart TV owners in India, the channel utilizes technology from Amagi. Toonz plans to extend its reach to Southeast Asian markets, targeting Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines first, followed by North America, Europe, and the Middle East.
“As viewing habits evolve, content creators must evolve with them. MyToonz is our strategic response to the connected TV revolution, combining storytelling excellence with smart distribution. This launch signals our intent to lead in the FAST space and shape the future of children’s entertainment distribution,” said Viswanath Rao of Toonz Media Group.
The channel features a library amassed over more than 25 years at Toonz’s Thiruvananthapuram studio, which produces over 10,000 minutes of content annually. Available titles include “Gummy Bear and Friends,” “Zoonicorn,” “Darwin & Newts,” “Tenali Raman,” and “Hanuman,” offering a mix of international and India-centric programming.
Amagi, responsible for the service’s technical foundation, provides a platform used by broadcasters and streaming services in numerous countries. Srividhya Srinivasan, Amagi’s co-founder and CTO, noted that the collaboration combines Toonz’s content expertise with infrastructure suited for large-scale streaming operations. “As demand for curated family programming continues to grow, IP-based delivery is essential to building sustainable FAST businesses,” she stated.
For LG India, MyToonz complements an existing lineup of free channels available to its smart TV users. “With the addition of MyToonz, our kids’ genre becomes even stronger,” said Brian Jung, director of media entertainment solution at LG Electronics India, highlighting the content’s alignment with the company’s goal of providing free, quality programming to households.
