Rep. Raskin had significant remarks following Bondi’s dismissal by Trump:
Today, President Trump dismissed Attorney General Pam Bondi, marking the end of a tenure seen as a significant betrayal of both the Department of Justice and the American public it serves. Notably, the DOW was below 50,000.
The Attorney General holds the most prestigious legal position in the country, with a mission centered on justice for the American public. However, Pam Bondi deviated from this mission, acting as Donald Trump’s personal attorney rather than fulfilling her duties to the Department of Justice. She turned the DOJ into a tool for the President’s personal vendettas, targeting his critics and protecting his political allies.
Her tenure is marred by the controversial removal of prosecutors investigating Trump’s favored crimes, including those linked to the January 6 insurrectionists and Trump himself. Career public servants were ousted from the DOJ for upholding the law, compromising the department’s integrity and public safety.
This tarnished legacy is further defined by her mishandling of the Epstein files, orchestrating a significant cover-up within the Justice Department. Investigations into co-conspirators were halted, and she withheld three million pages of documents, violating legal obligations. The identities of abusers and accomplices were concealed, while those of victims were exposed, shielding perpetrators and neglecting survivors.
