Two young migrants were apprehended for stealing a significant amount of designer clothing from a Macy’s store in downtown Brooklyn. Alan Bello, 18, and an unnamed 17-year-old boy managed to grab a collection of high-end clothing items during the robbery at the Fulton Street department store around 9 p.m. The stolen goods were valued at approximately $2,421 before a vigilant worker intervened and prevented the duo from leaving the store with the merchandise.

Law enforcement officers arrived at the scene and promptly arrested both teenagers, charging them with grand larceny. Sources have confirmed that the individuals are migrants, although their specific country of origin has not been disclosed. It remains unclear whether the pair had any prior run-ins with the law in New York City.

This incident bears a resemblance to a previous case earlier this year involving Venezuelan migrant Brian Castillos, 22, who was caught attempting to steal $299 worth of items from the same Macy’s location. Castillos has faced legal troubles this year for using a stolen credit card at a Manhattan NBA store and for snatching a woman’s necklace in a sidewalk theft in Hell’s Kitchen.

The swift response from authorities underscores the importance of vigilance and cooperation in deterring criminal activities within retail establishments. The apprehension of these individuals serves as a reminder of the ongoing challenges faced by businesses in safeguarding their merchandise and ensuring the safety of their customers.
