Meghan Markle faced criticism after sharing a video described as “desperate,” featuring her husband, Prince Harry, skiing down a slope. This release coincided with the public revelation of Harry’s flirtatious text messages with a female reporter, bringing his past as a “Playboy” to the forefront, RadarOnline.com reports.
The court case involving Harry’s messages with The Daily Mail‘s Charlotte Griffiths, where he referred to her as “sugar” and sent “kisses,” is currently under judicial consideration as part of his civil suit against the publisher Associated Newspapers.
In the video Markle, 44, posted, Harry, 41, is seen navigating a deserted ski slope under a clear sky, with their six-year-old son, Archie, following him confidently without ski poles. Markle praised her son’s skiing abilities, which she noted seemed advanced for someone from Montecito, a Southern California coastal town.
Despite previously sharing images from her ski trips, this is the first time Markle has showcased Archie’s athletic prowess, ensuring his identity remained hidden by filming him from behind, clad in a gray snowsuit, helmet, and gloves.
Online reactions to Markle’s video release were critical, coming just a day after Harry’s text exchanges with another woman were made public in court. Harry had testified that he met Griffiths only once in 2011 and ceased contact upon learning of her media affiliation.
Commenters on Reddit mocked the timing, suggesting the video was an attempt to divert attention from Harry’s court issues. One remarked on the use of children to distract from Harry’s alleged dishonesty, while another pointed out Markle’s apparent distress over Harry’s interactions with “Griff” and the “movie snuggles” controversy.
Some users commented on Markle’s belief that she was unique in her relationship with Harry, contrasting it with his interactions with other women.
According to a source close to Markle, she is upset about the situation with Harry’s messages to Griffiths. The source disclosed to RadarOnline that Harry has gained the nickname “Flirty Harry” because of the tone of those messages, and Markle is frustrated that these old conversations are being scrutinized publicly.
The court revealed texts in which Griffiths called Harry “Mr. Mischief” and “H,” discussing a December 2011 “fun weekend of naughtiness.” They met in June 2011, exchanged numbers at a party, and Harry later contacted Griffiths via Facebook, ending messages with playful sign-offs.
In January, Griffiths referred to Harry as “H Bomb” and expressed missing him at a recent event. Harry’s response conveyed a playful regret for missing the event, expressing a wish to have been there to enjoy the company and engage in friendly banter.
He humorously added his hope to see Griffiths again, asking if she ever worked, and recalling their previous “movie snuggles.”
