Easter egg hunt horror as kids find possible human skull

Authorities in Long Beach have initiated an investigation following the discovery of possible human remains during an Easter egg hunt on Sunday.

Police were alerted to DeForest Park, located on the 5900 block of De Forest Avenue, around 5 p.m. This was after a family participating in the egg hunt found what seemed to be a small skull buried in the ground.

The Long Beach Police Department has not disclosed who made the unsettling discovery, as reported by KCBS.

Aerial footage from Fox11 displays what seems to be a skull emerging from the ground, with authorities managing the scene nearby.

Family members indicated to CBS that along with the small skull, believed to belong to a child, other small bones were found in the vicinity.

Witness Marc Zaldana shared with KCBS, “At first we saw the family there, doing like an Easter egg hunt, but they were freaking out a little bit. I can only imagine, like for them, finding a dead, another kid. Must be tragic for them.”

The police informed the outlet that, given the circumstances, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office is attending the scene.

Authorities have stated they cannot provide an update until the medical office delivers its findings.

Long Beach resident Jessica Flores expressed to KTLA, “It hurts because if it’s a child, that’s very sad.”
