Unexpected star Bella Vaughn revealed that she disregarded the advised six-week period to abstain from sex post-birth.

“I think we only waited four days,” admitted the 16-year-old Bella during a confessional on Monday, April 6, as she sat beside her mother, Falen Vaughn. She disclosed that she and her boyfriend, Hunter Johnson, resumed intimacy shortly after the birth of their son, Wes.

Her mother, Falen, was taken aback, responding, “Seriously?” Bella countered by mentioning the close age gap between herself and her sister, just 11 months apart. When Falen asked if it was painful, Bella responded, “Freak yeah,” to which Falen reminded, “Cause you’re supposed to wait!” Bella and Hunter are one year and six months apart, with Bella being a sophomore and Hunter a freshman in high school.

A producer later questioned Bella about using protection to prevent another pregnancy. “I’m not on birth control to prevent a baby, but we are using condoms … sadly,” Bella shared.

Falen added, “Yeah, neither one of them want to use ’em,” prompting Bella to emphasize, “But I still do it every time because I don’t want two kids right now.”

In another segment, Falen confronted Bella, suspecting she wasn’t actually using protection. Bella, however, assured her mother that she would “not go without it.”

In a separate interview, Hunter confirmed they were using protection, albeit with a mischievous grin. When asked by a producer why he was worried about pregnancy despite using condoms, he admitted, “I’m just scared.”

Bella and Hunter’s son was delivered via C-section, a moment also captured on the TLC series. As Bella was prepped for surgery, Hunter expressed his nervousness, saying, “I’m afraid I might throw up … pass out.”

Recently, Bella defended her parents’ decision to allow her to shower with Hunter while she was recuperating.

Addressing criticism over the shower incident, Bella defended herself in an April 2 TikTok video, explaining, “The shower scene, y’all hated, but I was 15 years old, freshly postpartum, out of the hospital and had my stomach cut open [from a C-section].” She added, “I had just got my staples removed literally hours prior to that.”

She further justified Hunter’s presence, stating, “Hunter helped me out because I just had his baby. He should be there, helping me when he’s the one that made the baby with me.”

Falen also responded to social media criticism, explaining, “I treat him just like I treat my kids. I call him out when he needs to be called out. I take care of him just like I take care of my kids. That’s what you do when someone else becomes part of your family, you take care of them.”
