During his Tuesday night monologue, Jimmy Kimmel discussed the ceasefire between the United States and Iran, highlighting a consistent pattern in President Donald Trump’s negotiating methods.

On “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” the host mentioned, “The President decided not to drop it for at least another two weeks.” He explained that Trump, at Pakistan’s request, which has been aiding the negotiations, gave Iran a two-week reprieve. Kimmel humorously described the typical pattern: Trump makes an outrageous statement, causing panic, but then retracts it shortly after, like forgetting he ever said it, comparing his memory to a goldfish.

Kimmel humorously compared Trump to a “conscientious employee” who always gives two weeks’ notice. He then showed clips of Trump frequently stating he would fulfill a promise or know more about a specific issue in two weeks.

The late-night comedian addressed a statement from press secretary Karoline Leavitt, who claimed, “Only the President knows where things stand and what he will do.”

Kimmel joked, “And I don’t even believe he knows that,” referencing Trump’s claim about destroying Iranian power plants to the point of them being unusable, comparing it humorously to the toilets at Mar-a-Lago.

He further commented that such an action by Trump would constitute “a war crime under the Geneva accords.” Kimmel showed a clip of Trump stating, “Allowing a sick country with demented leadership to have a nuclear weapon, that’s a war crime.”

Kimmel concluded with a quip, “Then lock yourself up right now because that’s the boat we are floating in right now.”
