The identity of a 30-year-old man killed in a crash on Main South Rd in the Selwyn district last month has been released.
Keelan Breeze McCann, aged 30, lost his life in a collision on State Highway 1 near Burnham shortly before 7:30 am on April 14.
Another individual suffered serious injuries in the accident and is currently hospitalized in a stable condition.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand responded with three crews to the accident site, successfully rescuing two people trapped in the vehicles.
State Highway 1 was shut down for approximately four hours following the incident.
Police expressed gratitude to members of the public who stopped to assist those affected by the crash.
A police spokesperson stated that investigations into the crash’s circumstances are still underway.
“Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones at this time.”
Hato Hone St John dispatched two ambulances, two operations managers, a rapid response vehicle, and a helicopter to the scene.
