Twitch streamer RaKai has announced that he might take a hiatus from livestreaming as his high school requires him to attend classes in person to graduate this year. On May 3, 2026, during a livestream, RaKai shared this “bad news” with his viewers, mentioning that the school had informed his mother about the need for him to re-enroll to complete his graduation.
Discussing the possibility of being absent from May 30 to June 20, 2026, to attend in-person classes, Kai Cenat’s friend commented:
“The bad news is… so, graduation is obviously coming up. I graduate June 20th. Right? But, where the bad news comes in is that, right, my mom told me for in order to me to graduate and walk the stage, I will have to rejoin in-person school until May 30th till June 20. No, it’s not a summer school. Yeah, re-enroll.”
Additionally, RaKai explained that although he is part of an online high school program, he must visit the campus in Syracuse, New York, to obtain his diploma and officially graduate:
“I have to literally re-enroll, go back to Syracuse from May 30th till June 20th for me to … graduate. Like, for me to walk the stage, get my diploma, and all that. For me to fully graduate because I’ve been doing online school. Right? So, what I have is, the program is, it’s my school that I go to in Syracuse, but it’s an online school. I do all the … online. But for me to graduate, I have to go all the way to Syracuse.”
RaKai faces a choice regarding his high school graduation
RaKai further elaborated on the decision he has to make about his high school graduation, revealing that he could either take a GED test or pause his livestreaming for a month to attend classes in Syracuse in person:
“I have two decisions. Right? I have two decisions. It’s either do online, get my GED, or whatever that is. Or just go to school for that month or a week, or something like that, and go to school and graduate.”
RaKai drew attention on April 25, 2026, when he abruptly stopped his boarding school livestream series after being swatted.
