Rana alleged that the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office initiated a criminal investigation into Hajdini. Although the DA’s office briefly examined Rana’s allegations, the investigation was concluded as no evidence of wrongdoing was discovered.
Rana’s legal representative, Daniel Kaiser, informed the Daily Mail, “My client was notified on May 4, 2026, via a letter from the DA emailed to him, indicating the investigation was closed.”
Subsequently, the focus shifted to Rana’s mental health and need for support. By June 2025, after being placed on involuntary leave, Rana reported difficulties with sleeping and eating. He claimed he was haunted by “hearing the voice” of Hajdini in his mind and expressed concern for his own and his family’s safety due to a series of alleged threats.
A letter from Rana’s counselor, Jonathan Alpert, confirmed that he has been receiving treatment for symptoms consistent with PTSD, which are related to the “workplace experiences at issue in this case.”
