Melania and I join countless Christians across our nation and the world in celebrating the joyous occasion of Pentecost and the founding of Christ’s Church.
The Bible recounts that fifty days after the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Easter Sunday, the Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles in Jerusalem, appearing as tongues of fire. This event fulfilled Christ’s promise, empowering the Apostles with the courage and divine authority to spread God’s message to all nations and peoples.
In response to Saint Peter’s call to “repent and be baptized,” thousands embraced the immeasurable love and abundant grace of Jesus Christ. From that pivotal moment, Christ’s message of salvation and His promise of eternal life have reverberated through the ages, carried by generations of faithful believers who have shared the Gospel’s light to the ends of the Earth.
On this sacred day, we affirm our faith in Jesus Christ, our hope in His saving power, and our steadfast commitment to following His will as one Nation under God. As we mark 250 years of American Independence this year, we pray for the Holy Spirit to continue inspiring our hearts, strengthening our resolve, and guiding our Nation with wisdom, courage, and hope for the future.
Happy Pentecost!
