Tom Aspinall is in the process of recovering from eye injuries sustained during his first UFC heavyweight title defense against Ciryl Gane.
The bout was declared a no contest after Aspinall suffered multiple eye pokes from Gane. As Gane prepares to face Alex Pereira for the interim heavyweight title at the White House event, Aspinall remains sidelined, awaiting his return to the ring.
Despite this setback, Aspinall continues to discuss potential future matchups. In a conversation with Eddie Hall ahead of Hall’s boxing match against Tommy Fury, Aspinall shared his dream fight scenario.
When asked by Hall about his dream opponent, including those outside the UFC, Aspinall revealed that he would love to face Brock Lesnar:

“I would like to fight Brock Lesnar, you know. Think that would be f****** cool wouldn’t it?”
Aspinall elaborated:
“Just cause like I grew up watching him when he was in WWE.”

Though Lesnar, at 48, is excelling in WWE and remains in great physical condition, a fight with Aspinall seems unlikely for now. Nonetheless, Aspinall recently provided an update on his career plans.

After undergoing surgery following his fight with Gane, Aspinall faced vision challenges that affected his daily activities, including handshakes.
Ongoing rehabilitation has significantly improved his eyesight, and he shared several positive updates on his YouTube channel last month.
Aspinall expressed optimism about soon resuming full contact training:
“We are just on route back from the eye hospital where today I had a scan and things are progressing f***** nicely, which I am happy about. They are saying pretty soon…I will be cleared for contact. I am back in the gym, I am back training, no sparring.”
He confirmed his next fight would be against the winner of the Alex Pereira vs. Ciryl Gane match, though no specific return date has been set:
“No specific month. I am waiting to get clearance, which is going to be coming soon, they have just told me. Any specific month depends on the UFC, Those are the two gotta fight each other. Let them do their thing first, recover from that, and when everybody’s ready, we’ll do it.”
