Woof! They arrived, they saw, they conquered — and the dogs were dressed to impress.
Some of Los Angeles’ most fashionable canines took to the runway on Sunday for “Dare to Strut,” a canine fashion show that transformed Father’s Day into a four-legged style extravaganza.
Held on June 21 at Pawradise Park, the event turned the venue into a runway where dogs and their owners paraded together, celebrating fashion, creativity, and their unique bond.
Dog-and-human duos competed for top prizes in categories such as Holiday Couture, Couture Canines, and the Signature Story Runway, with each team showcasing its flair and personality for the judges.
Some dogs sported bright, colorful fur—think hot pink—while another embraced Parisian chic with a striped shirt, red beret, and oversized white sunglasses.
Others matched with their owners in coordinated dresses, and they did not disappoint!
Awards were presented for Most Fashionable Dog, Best Matching Duo, and Best Trick.
Founded by event producer and storyteller Shi Choong, Dare to Strut is regarded as more than a dog fashion show.
The event stemmed from Choong’s empowerment platform She Dares to Rise, which encourages participants to embrace courage, authenticity, and belonging.
Organizers noted that Dare to Strut maintains this spirit, inviting dogs and their humans to walk the runway as they are.
It’s not about perfection — the event aims to celebrate confidence and heart while highlighting the deep bonds people share with their pets.
The afternoon also featured original creations from local and emerging pet fashion designers, offering guests a preview of the latest trends in pet couture.
Beyond the runway, attendees explored local pet vendors, enjoyed music, and joined fellow dog enthusiasts for an afternoon filled with style and dog-themed fun.
The dog-friendly event coincided with both Father’s Day and National Dog Party Day, attracting pet parents, animal lovers, and plenty of camera-ready dogs for a day devoted to fashion and friendship.
