Legal experts found it unsurprising when Justice Amy Coney Barrett sided with the court’s liberal justices and Chief Justice John Roberts to support a grace period for mail-in ballots postmarked before Election Day.

Currently, eighteen states allow a grace period for mail-in ballots, while twelve other states extend this to overseas and military ballots. During oral arguments, Roberts and Barrett expressed skepticism and posed more questions regarding the Republican stance, leading court observers to anticipate the decision.
The ruling had unexpected consequences, notably agitating the 80-year-old president, who then urged Republican Senators to pass the SAVE America Act.
In response, Trump shared on Truth Social:
Due to the significant setback in the Supreme Court today concerning Voter’s Rights, and the continued counting of “people’s” votes long after an Election concludes, it is crucial to pass THE SAVE AMERICA ACT, which entails,
1. ALL VOTERS MUST SHOW PHOTO I.D. (IDENTIFICATION!).
2. ALL VOTERS MUST SHOW PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP.
3. NO MAIL-IN BALLOTS (EXCEPT FOR ILLNESS, DISABILITY, MILITARY DEPLOYMENT, OR TRAVEL!).
There is no valid reason for a politician or anyone else to oppose these three requirements. The only reason to object is — CHEATING! The House of Representatives has passed this essential Act three times, yet the United States Senate remains unable to approve it. In an era where a powerful Communist Movement threatens our Country, more perilous than World War I, World War II, Pearl Harbor, or September 11th, all Dumocrats, and our five Republican Senate Holdouts, Lisa Murkowski, Susan Collins, Thom Tillis, Bill Cassidy, and Mitch McConnell must vote to SAVE OUR COUNTRY. No more excuses! Thank you for considering this matter.
Trump omitted what the SAVE America Act actually entails and why he is so eager for its passage.
