Kim Tae-ri is set to make a comeback to the screen after a two-year break. On July 1, her agency, Management MMM, announced that the actress is considering an offer for a role in an upcoming series. They stated:
“We are under positive review after being offered a role in ‘I’m the Queen in This Life’.”
The new series, I’m the Queen in this Life, is a live-action adaptation of a Naver webtoon. The announcement of Tae-ri’s potential return has sparked excitement among her fans, who took to social media to express their joy. One fan exclaimed on X:
“LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL AGAIN KIM TAE RI IS BACK AT ACTING LIFE IS WORTH LIVING”
Fans are thrilled at the prospect of seeing Kim Tae-ri back in action, confident that she’ll excel in her upcoming role.
Previously, Kim Tae-ri appeared on screen in 2024 as Yoon Jeong-nyeon in TvN’s Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born, a 12-episode period K-drama where she starred alongside Shin Ye-eun.
The plot of Kim Tae-ri’s I’m the Queen in this Life, explored
The webtoon I’m the Queen in this Life began in 2022 and is set in the fictional Etruscan kingdom. The story begins with a murder committed by the king’s illegitimate son, Cesare, who seeks to rule the kingdom. He views his half-brother, Alfonso, as a rival.
In collaboration with his fiancée, Ariadne, Cesare devises a plan to dethrone Alfonso and successfully takes the throne. Despite Ariadne’s loyalty, Cesare ends up betraying her by having an affair with her sister. They plot to kill Ariadne, intending for her sister to become the queen.
Ariadne is unexpectedly reborn as her 17-year-old self, retaining the memories of her past life. Now, she must carefully navigate her new life to avoid repeating her previous tragic fate.
Although there has been no official confirmation, fans speculate that Kim Tae-ri will play Ariadne. The rest of the cast, including who will portray Cesare, is yet to be announced.
