Faced with the demanding schedule of the This Is It comeback tour, Michael Jackson, grappling with physical ailments and a debt exceeding $400 million, turned to a variety of drugs to manage his pain, leading up to his untimely death.

Among the substances found in his system during the autopsy were lorazepam, midazolam, diazepam, lidocaine, and ephedrine, in addition to a strong anesthetic that rendered him unconscious.

According to Dr. Nader Kamangar, a sleep expert from UCLA, the combination of these drugs created “the perfect storm” that ultimately led to Jackson’s demise.

Dr. Cyril H. Wecht, a medical examiner, stated, “Michael contributed to his own death by being a drug user; he knew the effects and the risks of all the drugs he took. Midazolam, lorazepam, and diazepam are all very strong drugs and would certainly have contributed to his death.”

Nonetheless, in November 2011, Dr. Murray, a cardiologist, was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter and received a four-year prison sentence for his involvement in Jackson’s death. He was released after completing two years of the sentence.
