A tragic accident on a Queens highway resulted in the deaths of a man and a woman who were thrown from their motorcycle, which subsequently collided with four other vehicles during Thursday evening rush hour, police reported.Â
The duo was riding a CFMoto 650 motorcycle on the eastbound Grand Central Parkway near the Jackie Robinson Parkway at approximately 6:30 p.m. when the motorcycle lost control and crashed into a white BMW driven by a 28-year-old woman, according to authorities.Â
The motorcycle then collided with a blue Ford Explorer operated by a 39-year-old man, officials stated.Â
Both riders were ejected from the motorcycle, landing on the pavement, police said.Â
The motorcycle continued moving, striking a Chevrolet Express van driven by a 37-year-old man and a Chrysler Town and Country minivan with a 73-year-old male driver, authorities noted.Â
The motorcycle operator suffered critical head injuries and was declared dead on scene by EMS personnel, while the passenger was transported to NewYork-Presbyterian Queens Hospital, where she later died, police confirmed.Â
Neither the identities nor ages of the deceased have been disclosed as of Friday.
The nature of their relationship remains unknown.
Emergency medical services evaluated five individuals from the other vehicles involved — three of whom were hospitalized with minor injuries, according to police.Â
Authorities stated that no arrests have been made in connection with the crash.Â
