Phil Rosenthal, known for his global culinary adventures, is now bringing his popular show “Somebody Feed Phil” closer to home. The comedian and host is inviting fans to explore a new, local chapter of his journey.

On July 27, Rosenthal will present a special episode that delves into Max and Helen’s, a Los Angeles diner he established with chef Nancy Silverton in November 2025. Named in honor of Rosenthal’s parents, the Larchmont restaurant has received accolades and drawn crowds for its comforting cuisine and inviting atmosphere.

This episode will premiere on YouTube, marking Rosenthal’s transition of the series from Netflix, where it aired for several seasons. It aims to fill the gap before the Season 9 debut in early 2027.

The move to YouTube follows a deal with Banijay, which entered into an agreement with Rosenthal’s Lucky Bastards production company. The partnership will bring new episodes to the “Phil Rosenthal World” YouTube channel, showcasing both short and long-form original content.

Rosenthal has previously shifted platforms for his food travel series. He initially launched “I’ll Have What Phil’s Having” on PBS in 2015 but moved to Netflix after funding issues prevented a second season. Renamed “Somebody Feed Phil,” the show was featured on Netflix from 2018 to 2025.

In a 2026 interview with Variety, Rosenthal outlined his straightforward vision for Max and Helen’s.

“Our mission is simple. We want to elevate comfort food,” he stated. “We want the best eggs, the best home fries, the best toast and a great cup of coffee. Lattes, cappuccinos? We’re not gonna have that. We’re gonna have the red pot and the blue pot. That’s it. If you want the fancy stuff, there’s seven places, including Starbucks, down the block where you can go.”

Here’s a look at a video teasing the Max and Helen’s episode.
