According to Korea’s Electronic Times, Samsung might release four high-end Galaxy phones in the first half of 2027, followed by another set of four later that year. While the idea may seem attractive, it could potentially overwhelm prospective buyers.
Too much of a good thing
As someone who frequently recommends Samsung phones to family and friends, I find choosing the right model increasingly challenging due to the vast array of options available.
While flagship models have generally avoided this issue, the six models released in 2026 already seem excessive.
The S27+ and S27 Pro seem to cater to the same audience.
The Galaxy Z Flip 8, despite being more costly than the previous Flip 7, offers no significant improvements. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S26+ finds itself in an awkward position, overshadowed by the more affordable S25 FE, which provides everything most users need in a 6.7-inch device.

A more streamlined lineup could have included four models:
- Galaxy S26 – a compact, more affordable bar phone
- Galaxy S26 Ultra – an ultra-premium bar phone
- Galaxy Z Fold 8 – a folding phone designed for entertainment
- Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra – a folding phone focused on productivity
