Veteran TV agent and producer Michael Carlton “Cal” Boyington, known for his work on MTV’s “The Osbournes,” has passed away at the age of 53. Boyington was discovered unresponsive at his residence in San Pedro on November 18. He had founded his own agency, Vital Artists Agency, in 2020 after working as an unscripted agent at ICM Partners and head of alternative programming at Paradigm Talent Agency. During his time as an agent, Boyington played a key role in packaging the popular MTV series “The Osbournes.”

In addition to his work as an agent, Boyington was also heavily involved in producing. He served as an executive producer at Manolin Entertainment for four years and later worked at Rebel Entertainment Partners for a similar period. His production credits include projects such as the Hulu docudrama “R5 Sons Alaska,” Discovery Channel’s “Bible Quest,” VH1’s “Cabo,” Comedy Central’s “Workaholics,” and HDNet’s “The Baker Boys.”

Originally from Vail, Colorado, Boyington attended Battle Mountain High School before pursuing a higher education at Colorado State University in Fort Collins. He eventually relocated to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.

Described as having boundless energy, a magnetic personality, and a zest for life, Boyington was known for lighting up any room he entered and bringing joy to those around him. His obituary highlights his passion for living life to the fullest.

Boyington is survived by his parents, Mike Boyington of São Paulo, Brazil, and Travis “Penny” Farrar of Little Rock, Arkansas, as well as his younger brother, B.G. Dickey of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
