Tracy Spiridakos has shared insights about her Chicago P.D. colleagues who are eager to join her new crime-drama series, Anna Pigeon.
Spiridakos, 38, told Us that she has a deep fondness for her former castmates and would welcome their participation in her new show. “Jason [Beghe] sent me a video expressing his desire to play my father,” she revealed. “He also congratulated me on my first day and reiterated his wish to be part of the show.”
Fans have also been vocal about casting choices. Spiridakos mentioned, “I’ve heard them say they want Jesse [Lee Soffer] to portray a villain, which sounds exciting to me.”
When discussing Soffer’s idea of playing a park ranger, Spiridakos said, “You’ll need to talk to the boss.” Director Lea Thompson appeared to support this idea during their joint interview.
Spiridakos expressed her enthusiasm for Soffer’s potential involvement, saying, “He’s wonderful. I’d love him to direct too.”
Anna Pigeon airs on Fridays and features Spiridakos in the lead role as a former city dweller who becomes a park ranger following a personal tragedy. As the series unfolds, she finds herself solving crimes in Glacier National Park.
This new series marks Spiridakos’ return to television after her surprising departure from NBC’s Chicago P.D. Recently, she reprised her role as Hailey Upton during a One Chicago crossover event, which also included Soffer.
In March, Spiridakos spoke about the exciting possibility of reuniting with Soffer on her new venture. “Oh, my God, that’d be amazing,” she expressed after having portrayed love interests on-screen with him in Anna Pigeon. “We’ll have to talk to the producers and have some discussions, but it would be really fun.”
Soffer was equally enthusiastic, joking, “That’d be crazy. The green hat, little green hat,” adding, “That would be so funny.”

For Spiridakos, taking on Anna Pigeon offered a refreshing contrast to playing Hailey. “I read the pilot and was instantly captivated. I wasn’t familiar with the books before this, but the character intrigued me with her complexity,” she explained. “Even as she navigates personal grief and growth, she retains a sense of humor and sarcasm.”
Enthusiastic about her new role, Spiridakos shared, “I was drawn to it because Hailey was an intense character—it was fun to play. But her emotions were often restrained. Anna, on the other hand, acts on impulse and expresses her feelings openly. It was a delightful change.”
She concluded by saying, “Both characters are complex and strong women, but they approach things differently, and I was eager to explore that.”
Anna Pigeon premieres Friday, August 7, at 10 p.m. ET on USA Network.
