Authorities accuse a mother of three of pursuing her children with a knife and threatening to harm them, according to police reports.
Sara Daniels, 36, has been charged with child abuse following allegations by her children, aged 14, 11, and 9. They reported that their mother physically abused them and made threats against their lives, occasionally during episodes fueled by drug use, as reported by WDTV.
In separate accounts, each child described a terrifying incident where Daniels allegedly chased her 14-year-old daughter with a knife. The 9-year-old stated to interviewers that Daniels threatened, âIâll cut your brother and sisterâs throat if you leave,â according to court documents.
The children also recalled an instance where Daniels and her boyfriend, under the influence of drugs, crashed their cars into each other, almost hitting the 9-year-old.
The alarming accounts were shared with officials during interviews at the Child Advocacy Center in Elkins in May.
Additionally, the children claimed that Daniels once told her teenage daughter she âwished she would have diedâ and allegedly offered to assist her in committing suicide, as per court documents.
The interviewer observed a scar on the 11-year-old, which the child attributed to Daniels banging her head against a door.
On Friday, Daniels was charged with three counts of child abuse resulting in injury and strangulation, according to jail records.
She remains in custody at the Tygart Valley Regional Jail with a bond set at $30,000 cash-only.
The West Virginia State Police did not immediately provide additional information when contacted by The Post.
