Nate Bargatze’s “Big Dumb Eyes” tour has achieved a Guinness World Record.
The comedian from Tennessee has officially set the record for the most tickets sold during a stand-up comedy tour, surpassing the previous record held by Jeff Dunham.
Bargatze is set to receive his Guinness World Record on stage at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto this Saturday. Before the event, his “Big Dumb Eyes” tour had sold approximately 2,016,254 tickets, outperforming Dunham’s “Spark of Insanity” tour, which sold 1,981,720 tickets. The final ticket count for Bargatze’s Guinness World Records certificate will be confirmed later this weekend.
Bargatze reached this milestone at a remarkable pace. Dunham’s previous record involved selling 1,981,720 tickets across 386 venues from September 13, 2007, to August 21, 2010, a span of 35 months and 8 days. In contrast, Bargatze’s “Big Dumb Eyes” tour, which began on April 6, 2025, surpassed the 2 million ticket mark in just 16 months and 10 days, covering only 128 venues. Notably, Bargatze’s tour featured no puppets.
During his tour, Bargatze set 84 venue records, according to his representatives. Among these achievements, he became the only comedian to sell out three consecutive performances at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena in one calendar year, a feat previously matched only by Taylor Swift and Garth Brooks.
Bargatze is known for his clean, deadpan comedy style, which appeals to audiences of all ages. He was recognized by Pollstar as the highest-grossing stand-up comedian, with earnings of $77.5 million reported in 2025 alone. Earlier this year, he ventured into film with his movie “The Breadwinner” and is currently planning a $350 million theme park in Tennessee called Nateland.
