For those who aren’t particularly interested in foldable devices, the Pro Fold might not be the best option. Surprisingly, it’s the standard Pixel 11 that captures my attention the most.
Here are three main reasons why I consider it the standout choice in the lineup.
Not a HiLight
Let’s start with a topic that’s sure to spark some debate.
When details of the Pixel 11 series first emerged, there was a great deal of anticipation about the alleged ‘Pixel Glow’ lights on the back. People wondered if we would see a customizable LED ring around the camera module, as envisioned by Gemini.
It turns out, this isn’t the case. Moreover, it’s not even named Pixel Glow! The feature is called ‘HiLight’, and it feels lackluster. Essentially, it’s a less impressive version of the ‘Glyph’ lights found on Nothing phones, offering various patterns based on who is calling or if Gemini is interacting with the device.
And that’s essentially its current functionality. Google has stated that additional features will be introduced to HiLight “over time,” but at launch, it seems significantly lacking.
