A man caught peeping into a young girl’s bedroom window in Pennsylvania has been identified as an employee who works with children in a neighboring state, authorities and reports reveal.
Winfield Becker, 48, who serves as an athletic director in a prestigious New Jersey school district, was reportedly observed looking into the bedroom window of his young neighbor in Cabin Run, Bucks County, at around 10:40 p.m. on August 6, according to the Plumstead Township police.
Authorities detained the suspect after the homeowner provided video surveillance to the police.
The video allegedly shows Becker watching the girl from just outside her window, as stated in the police report.
Becker holds the position of athletic director at the Hopewell Valley Regional School District in New Jersey, as reported by the Trentonian.
The school district, located not far from Princeton, serves over 3,500 students from pre-kindergarten to 12th grade in Mercer County, according to its LinkedIn page.
A letter to school parents, obtained by the outlet, from Superintendent Rosetta Treece stated that Becker’s actions took place outside the school district’s borders and did not involve any students.
The superintendent also mentioned that Becker would be placed on a leave of absence.
Becker faces charges of loitering and prowling at night, along with a summary offense of harassment, according to court records.
He is scheduled to appear in court on September 8.
Becker’s attorney, Thomas Logan, stated, “We look forward to his appearance in court where he can vindicate his name against these baseless accusations.”
